I love the randomness of what can happen to you when you are open to possibilities.
We had been in Paris for 2 days and while we love Paris, we hadn’t taken many pictures and I was wondering what to blog about. We are so familiar with the ‘city of love’ that we weren’t really sight-seeing, we were just relaxing and enjoying ourselves immensely.
I was thinking I would have no choice but to blog about our dégustation-focused trip to Paris. We did eat some lovely crepes and I discovered that cosmopolitan cocktails are made with fizzy water in Paris – but I was thinking it would be difficult to come up with something interesting to write.
But then fate intervened. We met Ignacio.
It was our last night in Paris and we were wandering (wunderlushing? – Ed) around the latin quarter and heading, slowly, to a bar we frequented with Donna on our last trip to Paris for a cocktail and free wi-fi. I had just been in this great art gallery and shop called Carre D’Artistes and we were across the road from the cafe where we planned to stop for a drink. In true Paris style it was late and we hadn’t eaten dinner yet (Parisians eat dinner after 9pm).
Ignacio approached us and asked to take a photo of us kissing. He is a New York photographer who hails from Argentina and his current project is to photograph kisses from all over the world. You can check out a sample of his work on Facebook – http://www.facebook.com/NewYorkPeople
Ignacio asked us to pose in the street in front of our cafe but in the middle of a 4-way intersection. Hats off to Ryan who did a stirling job – not only did he plant one hell of a kiss on me, but he also managed to make sure we didn’t get killed by the various scooters, cars and buses that were using that busy intersection.
So here is an autobiographical pic of us making out with Ignacio. We are all about spreading the love!
